The Duke Company is proud to support Fairy Godmother’s of Greater Rochester.
Their mission is to “make sure that every young lady in the community has the opportunity to experience their high school prom feeling like a princess and that they are the most important in the world if only for that moment”. The organization is a heroic advocate for “self-esteem and inner strength” and that is what they “advocate for each and every young lady by providing them with a personal shopper and a “Cinderella” like experience at our annual Prom Dress Fair”.
The history of the organization is notable, especially the huge hears of the two founders: Rene Spallina and Cynthia Jackson. They “were two moms with a vision – The Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester – which was realized in January of 2004. After seeing a story on Oprah about a program that provided prom dresses for financially challenged high school girls, they set out to create their own program in the Rochester Community. Since then the Fairy Godmother’s of Greater Rochester has dressed an average of 500 young ladies a year for a total of over 5,000 young ladies.”
